RITA’s life has been marked by resilience. Evacuated from the war-torn zones of Ukraine, this little girl has already survived so much in her short life. She found temporary safety at foster in the countryside with her best friend. However, threats from a neighbour who vowed to poison the dogs meant she had to be moved again. Her second foster in Ukraine lived in a city flat and RITA adapted beautifully to her new environment and city routine.
RITA arrived in UK few weeks ago and is currently at Foster in UK and that’s what foster say about her : ” Rita is chilled, affectionate and independent. She is house trained but occasionally needs a bit of encouragement to go outside when it’s cold and dark. She walks lovely on a lead and hardly pulls, she hates her harness and is happier with a collar. She’s happy with a quick walk around the block or a long field walk. She does like to chew the occasional thing but that’s solved with bones, she doesn’t seem to have an understanding of toys but is slowly learning. She loves being curled up on the sofa next to you or equally in her bed, she sleeps happily downstairs at night, but absolutely hates a crate and it is very stressful for her. She can be left alone, may whine a little to start but settles quickly. She can be a little nervous of people to start with but warms quickly and will come for fuss or to rest her head on your knee. She doesn’t understand sit but is learning to ‘wait’/‘go’ on crossing the roads and certainly knows ‘no’ as she is very well behaved eg will stop when you stop and not go far from you they aren’t things that need to be urgently worked on. Rita is gentle and calm, She’s not fussed about cats and will stay out of their way.
Rita needs a home without children under 7, toddlers are too much for her – if we didn’t have a toddler she would be with us for the rest of her life. She is golden and a lovely companion.”
Detailed Information:
RITA may seem a little shy at first, but she is not fearful — just modest and gentle when meeting new people. She warms up quickly and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’s yours for life.
RITA is very well-behaved, both in the home and on the streets. She’s housetrained, tidy, and calm indoors, with no signs of mess. Despite her past, RITA embraces new experiences with quiet curiosity. She walks well on a leash, adjusts to traffic and public environments, and enjoys her daily strolls. She has even grown accustomed to city life, though her heart will always belong to the countryside.
RITA loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a dog friend who can guide her and share in her joyful playtime. She is gentle with all animals and humans, including kids, though she would do best with older, dog-savvy children who can give her the time and space to settle at her own pace. RITA has a special, calming presence and brings a sense of peace to those around her. She’s a soft, loving soul who just wants to be part of a family.
RITA would be happiest in a peaceful, loving home, ideally enjoying the company of another dog, but it’s not the must. Her gentle nature makes her the perfect companion for someone with a calm lifestyle who enjoys regular walks and quiet evenings. RITA would love a garden to explore and a family who understands that patience and kindness will bring out the best in her. With time, RITA’s heart will open fully, and she will reward you with unwavering loyalty and love.
RITA is fully healthy. Spayed, has all core vaccines done, and is microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
