Rescue Story:
MARILYN’s life began in heartbreaking circumstances. Along with her mother, and siblings, she was cruelly thrown into a deep well used as a trash pit in a small Ukrainian village. After enduring an unknown period of suffering, her faint cries were finally heard by rescuers. Volunteers came equipped the next day and saved MARILYN, her family, and another sibling from the well. Although her past trauma left a lasting mark on her heart, MARILYN is now on the road to recovery and love.
She recently arrived in UK and this is what he foster says after having her for 1 week:
“Margot ( Was Marylin) is a sweet girl who came to us so nervous, she would not leave her crate for 2 days. 1 week later, she now enjoys chilling out on the sofa, going for walks and having lots of fuss.
She sleeps in our living room and although she has a bed she prefers the comfort of the sofa and a blanket.
She is very gentle natured, no signs of aggression and very submissive. If she is unsure of anything, she just freezes.
She walks well on a lead, unsure of cars but we are working on that. She really loves her walks exploring with a happy wagging tail.
Confidence is growing everyday.
Toilet training needs working on…will happily go on a puppy pad – never made a mess in the house, but she was fullu housetrained before, so that’s probably a metter of little more time for settlement. Doesn’t play at the moment but I’m sure in time she will.
Currently fostered with 2 gentle small dogs and appears to love their company and looks to them for comfort and guidance if she is unsure.
Lives with a cat also and shows no interest in chasing, very gentle.
Margo is such an amazing girl who just needs time and patience in her forever home and a comfy sofa to chill on. Recent photos and videos/updates on her progress can be seen on my Instagram @ferris.foster.dogs feel free to take a look!”
Detailed Information:
Since her rescue, MARILYN has been living in Ukraine is a caring foster home with plenty of outdoor space to play and explore. She arrived very shy and cautious in new environments and around unfamiliar people. MARILYN has made great progress—no longer hiding from strangers but observing them curiously, wagging her tail and occasionally comes to take a treat from hand.
Now MARILYN has blossomed into an incredibly affectionate girl. She loves to snuggle close and often asks to be petted and scratched. If she could, she would stay by your side all day. MARILYN has even started asking to be picked up for hugs, turning to a lap dog, as she adores being near her person.
MARILYN is a sweet and gentle soul who will thrive with a family that can provide patience, love, and understanding. She loves other dogs and would benefit from the company of a gentle and playful canine friend to guide her. MARILYN enjoys playing with toys and other dogs, but she’s also calm and easy-going, making her a wonderful companion for a peaceful household.
A quiet home with older children (10+), the other dog and a secure garden would be ideal for MARILYN. She’s been fully housetrained and has started leash walks, though she will need time to adjust to new experiences. If you’re ready to help a shy but affectionate dog blossom into her true, loving self, MARILYN could be the perfect fit for your family.
MARILYN is fully healthy. She is not yet spayed (recommended after her first season; Spay agreement applies). She has all core vaccines done and is microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
