ALREADY IN UK: DORA – 4-5 years old girl – Small-Dachshund cross – Ukraine war dog

DORA is a tender, friendly Dachshund cross.

She is a war dog from Ukraine looking for home, already in UK. Based in Midlands, Walton on Trent, DE12, available for adoption over UK (collection from location or sometimes part way meeting can be agreed).

• SIZE: Small 34 cm shoulder height/ 10-11 kilos
• CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Gentle, shy at start, well balanced
• DOGS: Ok but better as the only pet
• CATS: No
• CHILDREN: Good with, recommended for kids 9+

DORA is currently at Foster in UK with another dog she is ok but we believe she would enjoy having attention to herself.  That’s what Foster  say about her: ” A very good doggie. Good on the lead, learning recall, learning sit, okay in the bath/shower. Eager to please.”

Rescue Story: DORA was not a stray dog; she lived with an old lady who loved and cared for her. Unfortunately, the lady passed away, and her relatives, who inherited her property, didn’t want the dog. They brought her to a shelter, where DORA, who was the only dog of her owner, suddenly found herself in a stressful environment surrounded by unknown dogs. She couldn’t understand why her little world had crumbled in one moment. Luckely she got a chance to move to foster soon.

DORA is housetrained, and very good on a leash. She  doesn’t feel comfortable among them, as she is not used to living in a multi-dog home and is scared of active and pushy dogs. She can chase cats, so she would be better suited as the only pet in a new home.

DORA can be shy at first when meeting new people, but she is eager to build trust quickly. She will need 2-3 days to decompress in a quiet environment upon arrival. Once she decompresses, she will blossom into a loving companion and will shower you with love and affection.

DORA loves her walks and exploring but doesn’t need intensive physical exercise, just good, meaningful walks (sniffing). She also loves to nap and cuddle near her humans.

DORA is a sweet and loving dog who is looking for a quiet and understanding home where she can feel safe and loved. If you give her a chance, she will reward you with loyalty and affection.

DORA is fully healthy; spayed, has all core vaccines done, microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
