FONTAN is a gentle boy of around 2.5 years old. Upper-medium size at 55 cm and 17 kg.

He is ready to join the Happy Doggy Bus to the UK in the end of August, but needs a place where to go (home or committed foster). Together we can change a world for this soul.

Rescue Story:

FONTAN was one of the first dogs evacuated from the ruined and deoccupied areas of Bucha/Irpin in April 2022. Just a puppy at the time, FONTAN now has spent more than two years waiting in a shelter. Though loved and cared for, it’s not the same as having a home. He spent the first nine months at a foster home but had to move to a shelter when the home environment was needed for younger or sick dogs. Even in one of the best shelters in Ukraine, with over 100 dogs and only three volunteers, FONTAN desperately misses the personal attention and love a family provides.

FONTAN is a gentle and human-oriented dog who forms strong bonds, especially with women. He can be a bit cautious around men at first but with little reassurance he quickly warms up once he feels safe.

FONTAN loves his walks and is accustomed to walking on a leash. He is friendly with all dogs and, while not used to living with cats, he ignores them when they cross paths in the shelter. His calm and cuddly nature makes him a great companion who is not overly demanding of attention. He would suit a family with older children (10+) due to his lack of experience with younger kids.
