Meilė is a 5–6 month old large-breed pup, likely a Mastiff x Akita cross, already weighing around 28 kg and still growing and might grow up to 50 kilos. But don’t let her size fool you – this gorgeous young lady is as gentle as they come, with the softest soul and a goofy, loving heart.
She was surrendered due to a family allergy and is now thriving in foster care. Her foster family cannot say enough good things about her – she’s calm, clever, and an absolute treasure of a dog.
Her foster mum says:
“Meilė is the most lovely, gentle giant girl. She has a heart of gold and would make a perfect family dog. She’s incredibly sweet-natured – we’ve honestly fallen in love. She’s playful with our older dog, attentive with our children (4-year-old twins), and loves nothing more than snuggling her big head into your lap.
She’s been brilliant with our children – bouncy and playful, yes, but with surprising spatial awareness and gentleness. She adores chasing them around the table in a game they all seem to have invented together!
Meilė would excel in training classes – she’s smart, loves to learn, and thrives off praise. She’s picked up so much already in such a short space of time, but because of her size, we’d recommend someone with prior dog experience.
She sleeps beautifully in a crate or beside our older dog, travels well in the car, and is totally fine being groomed – though she’s not the hairdryer’s biggest fan!
She could live happily as a second dog or as an only dog with plenty of human love and attention. She’s currently living with our dog-savvy children and has shown an affectionate, patient nature around them.”

💖 What She’s Like
Meilė is everything you could hope for in a young large-breed dog. She’s eager to please, quick to learn, and genuinely wants to be part of the family. She adores cuddles, loves to be close, and will rest her big head lovingly in your lap.
Though still a pup, she’s shown impressive maturity – sleeping calmly at night, behaving well in new environments, and showing restraint around the house.
Her current challenges (all typical for her age) include:
Occasional pulling on the lead (she’s strong!). Being a bit mouthy when excited. Chewing or picking up items if left lying around. Barking at the telly or sheep through the window.
With loving guidance, all of these are perfectly manageable – and she’s already learning quickly.
🏡 Ideal Home
Meilė is looking for a committed, loving home that will continue her training and cherish her wonderful temperament. She’d adore a canine friend to play and cuddle with but would also flourish as the only dog with active, affectionate humans around her.
A garden is a must for zoomies and lounging in the sun. She can be left alone for short periods and settles well, but she really thrives on interaction and praise.
