ππΆ Peggy β A Loving Young Girl, Boston terrier πΆπ
Meet Peggy β€
Peggy has been a foster in an adult only, pet free household. From the start she was a cuddle monster and simply loves all humans, greeting everybody with an excited wiggle and a kiss. Peggy is just starting to play with toys and enjoys a game of tug or fetch with a ball. As with all puppies, she can become excitable and mouthy when playing but can be easily redirected.
Despite being told she didn’t like to go for a walk, Peggy has been happy and confident on short walks, loving a good sniff around. She does pull a little on the lead to begin with and also when she sees other dogs as she wants to greet everybody she meets. Peggy has barked at a couple of dogs usually after they’ve barked first so will need continued socialisation training with this.
Peggy sleeps in her bed in the kitchen at night and can be left during the day for short periods settling after a couple of whimpers without any destructive behaviour.
Peggy is virtually toilet trained, only having an odd accident and has been fine overnight.
Since arriving a little underweight, Peggy values her food and will need to build confidence and trust that people won’t take it away from her. Using food, Peggy is learning the commands of sit and wait. She takes treats from the hand gently and isn’t a fussy eater (but can gobble her food quickly).
Peggy is not a demanding dog which makes her a good match for a lot of people. She loves snuggles on the sofa and being nearby her humans. She does not need long walks and is happy to just potter around the garden.
She is very loving and sweet natured and has a funny and endearing character that will bring endless joy to the lucky person or family who adopt her. π
