SONNY is a small 2-year-old Chihuahua cross with a huge heart and an endless capacity for love. She arrived in the UK before Christmas, hoping for her forever home. But sadly, her family can no longer keep her, and she now needs a second chance at happiness.
This little girl adores cuddles, loves to play, and is incredibly smart and trainable. She has come so far, but now she faces losing everything again.

Rescue Story
SONNY’s life has been a whirlwind of joy and heartbreak. Once abandoned, she was rehomed, and it seemed like her story had reached its happy ending. But that happiness was short-lived. Her family vanished, likely fleeing the horrors of war, leaving SONNY behind to fend for herself.
Initially, rescuers thought she was safe on the streets during the warm summer days. Volunteers provided food and water, believing she would be fine for a short time until a foster home became available. Tragically, this assumption proved wrong. After just five days, SONNY disappeared. She was found in a ditch, her tiny body battered, with a deep gash on her head and covered in blood.
Rushed to the clinic, it was a miracle that no bones were broken and her eyes remained unharmed. The wound was determined to be from a knife—not an accident, but a deliberate act of cruelty. Who could harm such a small, innocent soul remains a mystery. Despite her ordeal, SONNY’s resilience shone through, and she healed completely without any lasting physical issues.
She arrived in the UK with so much hope, but sadly, her current family can no longer keep her. She is now in urgent need of a stable and loving home where she can finally feel safe and secure.

Her current family says:
“ Sonny is the sweetest, most affectionate little dog I have ever met and she loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa. She is intelligent and very food motivated, so picks up training very quickly – she already knows sit, stay, down, and bed, and will come to her name. She is playful but not hyper, she will happily amuse herself with her toys and we have left her for 3-4 hours with no problems. She will happily have her harness and lead put on but needs lead training as she pulls a lot on walks. She gets very excited when she sees or hears other dogs outside the house if she can’t interact with them. As she craves this interaction with other dogs, I think another calm confident dog in the home would really help her. Her overexcitement can sometimes lead to toileting issues, but in a calm environment with another dog this could be managed. She has shown no aggression to our two resident cats, but her excitement to be near them was a bit too much for them so confident cats or a cat free home would be best. We will miss her a lot and she will make a wonderful companion or family dog in the right environment.”
