MERLIN is a UK surrender dog. Unfortunately family feels they can’t give him what he needs as currently have a 4 months old baby, so need to find him new home
That’s what his family say about him: “Merlin is 2yrs 6mths old he is a very lively border collie who loves being outside and going on long walks, he would spend all day outside if he could. He loves having the door open so he can come and go as he pleases. Merlin also loves playing flirt pole, tug and with footballs. He loves chasing toys and often steals your socks and brings them back to you so you chase him. He however sometimes steals other things like wallets and glasses. Merlin loves his food but won’t eat tinned dog food he has been fed on raw frozen tripe and dog biscuits, he can be very fuzzy with treats and seems to prefer treats like pork rolls etc… so more natural ones. His favourite treat is chicken, he is fed in an evening. Sometimes Merlin will guard any food he finds or items he finds to get things back off him or stop his guarding we take in a high value item to give to him which is chicken and he will normally drop it or swap it. He also suffers some separation anxiety on a night time and can sometimes wee in the house due to this so he will need some training and patience to overcome this we tend to take his water off him after 6pm to limit the amount he takes in overnight. He likes chasing cars on walks so needs to be told to leave it well in advance, he does pull on his lead and has no recall. But he loves his walks and playing in water. He has had basic training and can sit and leave it well , we also use out and off as well. We use good boy if he’s done well. He can be anxious around new people and takes a little patience to get to know them, he is good with older children, doesn’t like cats and male dogs. Especially if the dog or cat is in his territory. He has nipped at someone when they grabbed him under his chin and leant over him and when someone fussed him and he didn’t want it so patience is key with him and respect as well.”
MERLIN loves his walks. He would suit a family with older children (10+) due to his lack of experience with younger kids.
MERLIN is fully healthy. Neutered. Has all core vaccines done, microchipped.
