🐾 Give A Safe Haven To War Dog from Ukraine 🐾

BETSY is a bundle of joy, a small-sized puppy girl just over 8 months old. She is the smallest among her sisters and almost reached her adult size. With her short legs, she’s likely a Dachshund cross. Currently at foster at Scotland, Edinburgh, EH4

SIZE: Small [37 cm shoulder height/8 kilos]
SPAYED/NEUTERED: No (spay agreement applies)
CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Playful, active, and very curious
DOGS: Great with other dogs
CATS: Raised with cats, loves to play with them
CHILDREN: Friendly with children (dog-savvy kids 7+ recommended)

Betsy and Tessie are currently in foster care in Edinburgh, Scotland, where they live in a flat with no private garden. This is what their fosr says: ” Both adjusted very quickly, Betsy learned to use the stairs within one day and taught her sister. Both girls are housetrained, but rare accidents can happen (puppy pads).  They are very cheerful and will wake you up in the morning for cuddles. They are doing ok with small rodents in a cage – interested, but not attacking or barking.

Betsy is a smart and brave dog, she’s very curious about the world. Very food driven, devours her food in seconds and runs to check what everyone else is eating. She loves chewing soft toys and occasionally plays with rope ball. Betsy is playful with other dogs she met (most were neutered male dogs). Different from many rescue dogs, she’s not afraid of men and wants everyone to give her cuddles.”

Rescue Story:
BETSY, along with her sisters ELLY and TESSIE, were evacuated by courageous volunteers from combat zones in February. Their mum, unfortunately, passed away after being heavily wounded by shrapnel. BETSY and her sisters arrived infected with parvovirus, the most dangerous puppy disease. At just a few weeks old, volunteers fought for their lives for two weeks. Fortunately, they fully recovered and now have lifelong immunity against the disease. Despite her rough start in life, BETSY’s joyful spirit and loving nature shine through.

Detailed Information:
When in Ukraine BETSY was living at a foster home with other dogs, cats, and kids, and is very friendly with everyone. While she loves cuddles and being near humans, her curiosity drives her to follow people around. BETSY is the most active and playful among her sisters, often taking the lead despite her small size. She adores toys and loves children, but kids should be dog-savvy and aged 7+ due to the usual rough puppy play, which might include mouthing. Joyful and active, like all happy and healthy puppies, BETSY will benefit from having a decent garden for zoomies and another dog to play with in her new home. Raised with cats, BETSY is friendly with them, although she and her sisters sometimes find chasing cats to be an amusing game.

Adopting a puppy means understanding that they require ongoing training to become amazing pets. She thrives in environments where she can explore and engage in fun activities. BETSY’s energetic and curious nature ensures she brings joy and excitement to any home. Let’s find her the loving home she deserves, where she can continue to grow and thrive.

BETSY is fully healthy. Not spayed due to early age (spay agreement applies). Has all core vaccines done, microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
