ZHANNA’s journey began with a young guy who rescued her as a tiny puppy, finding her shivering by the railway tracks one bitter winter. He carried her home against his chest, warming her with his kindness. For years, they were inseparable until duty called him to war. ZHANNA was left in the care of his mother, who sadly chained her outside after she had once been a cherished indoor companion and slept in a bed.
When her soldier dad reached out the rescue to ask for help, he was almost crying, asked to take dog from his mother and it was clear he desperately wanted a better life for ZHANNA. Tragically, contact with him was lost, and his fate remains unknown. ZHANNA’s gentle spirit remains, a testament to the love and bond they once shared.
