SIRI was rehomed in UK, but sisn’t get along with their resident dog, so the returned SIRI back to recue and went to foster . That’s what her previous family said about her: ” Sydney (previously Siri) has been a complete delight since we have had her. Well behaved around the home, playful and just so, so loving. Looks for fuss and cuddles all the time. Frequently stands on her back legs to give you a dog hug !! Is very food orientated so has been easy to train using treat rewards, learns quickly. Loves chasing flies ! Outside the home environment Sydney walks well on the lead and her recall is coming along well. She has though demonstrated barking mostly with younger male adults . Sydney will therefore need  patient owners able to work on modifying this behaviour and building trust to males. She will then be an absolutely brilliant addition to an active family or couple.

Unfortunately, we’ve realised we need to return Sydney. We’ve been taking things slowly with the introduction to Ted, and there have been some positive moments where they were calm around each other. However, today, Sydney lunged at Ted as he walked into the room. While no physical harm was done, it really terrified him—he was shaking and trying to hide. Given Ted’s recent trauma and how scared he is, we’ve decided that he really can’t cope with another dog in the house. We think Sydney’s anxiety and his fearfulness just aren’t a good match.

I want to stress that Sydney is a lovely dog—very affectionate and playful—but she does need confidence-building. We think she’d do best in an adult-only home as a single dog, but would benefit from ongoing socialising and having dog friends outside the home.””

Rescue Story:
SIRI ‘s journey began in the de-occupied territories, where she was rescued and evacuated. Sadly, her initial rescue wasn’t as hopeful as it seemed. SIRI was taken by a municipal rescue center and rehomed without much care or checking of her living conditions. She ended up in a village, relegated to the role of a backyard guarding dog. Life there was harsh; she was tied on a chain, deprived of walks, and had no shelter over her head. SIRI endured starvation and neglect in these dire circumstances until volunteers discovered her and intervened.

SIRI’s pictures show the condition she lived in before being rescued, as well as before and after grooming. She needed all her hair cut off due to parasites, knots, and being extremely dirty. However, when her new hair grows back, her family could do many beautiful hairstyles with her.
