BERTA’s life has been a series of betrayals, yet she remains the most kind and forgiving soul. Found abandoned, she lived under a block of flats, surviving on scraps while waiting for someone to notice her. The rescue sterilised her, but there was no space to take her in at the time. Then, she disappeared.
Volunteers searched for her and, heartbreakingly, found her chained to a tree in a filthy yard, with no shelter, no kennel—just a chain and endless loneliness. A cruel, neglectful family had taken her and left her to suffer. With the help of authorities, BERTA was finally freed, and now she’s waiting for a loving home where she will never be forgotten again.
