URGENT: Already in UK: ALBI – 8 yo -small- Ukraine war dog -Reduced Fee

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿพ URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED To War Dog from Ukraine ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

ALBI (once known as ANDRE) , is a small-size boy with a soft tender heart. Located LA11, Lancaster

This 8-year-old corgi cross has endured so much, from surviving the war in Ukraine to living with military soldiers on the front lines. Despite his tough past, ALBI has the kindest nature and a calm, easy-going demeanor. He is house-trained and enjoys companionship, whether from people or dogs. ALBI is in search of a quiet, loving home where he can have the stability and peace he craves.

ALBI made his way to the UK in March 2024 and has since been rehomed twice, but due to reactivity around strangers, he has returned to foster care a months ago. Now, his foster is moving and we need to find ALBI a NEW FOSTER HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, a home where he can feel safe and loved.

This is what his current foster says about him:
โ€œ๐ŸถThey think heโ€™s about 8 years, but has had a hard couple of years.
๐Ÿ’•Heโ€™s very soft and loves strokes , tummy tickles and company . He also gets on with other dogs.
๐ŸกHeโ€™s looking for a quiet home with a garden, no children, would suit an older couple or single person with no frequent visitors,
๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€he needs three 15-20min steady walk a day.
๐Ÿถ Albi is a little overweight so some weight management would be needed to keep him healthy and help his joints.
๐Ÿ“ Albi need someone who has time to train him to relax and trust unknown people. He gets quite possessive over his new owners and wants to protect them.
๐Ÿ“Would be good if there was a quiet room/kennel available where he can go when new people come into the home environment.
๐Ÿ‘Albi gets on very well with my three resident dogs. I have not experienced any aggression even when he first came.

I would recommend someone who has had a dog before and has time and love to give this old boy what he deserves. Unfortunately I wonโ€™t be in a position to do this ๐Ÿ˜ž.โ€

Detailed Information:
ALBI is a sensitive and loving soul, but heโ€™s been through a lot. The stress of living on the front lines in Ukraine and the many changes in his life since have left him anxious and wary of new people, and he can become uncomfortable when people move suddenly around him. He feels a strong need to protect himself, his home, and the people he loves, which has led to a few incidents where he snapped at someone or acted defensively.

Despite this, ALBI has shown that with the right environment and careful management, he can relax and be his “best self.” ALBI loves spending time with his people, watching birds in the garden, working for food treats, and even beginning to show interest in toys. He also enjoys his walks and will calmly ignore people and dogs on lead as long as they donโ€™t come too close. His ideal home is one with few visitors, a predictable environment, and possibly baby gates to manage his space when new people are around.

ALBI doesn’t like being picked up, and one of his trial homes had an incident when he snapped at someone who suddenly tried to lift him. This may have been related to discomfort in his back legs, as he has shown significant improvement since starting on joint supplements.

ALBI is a wonderful companion for someone dedicated and experienced with dogs that need a bit more understanding and care. He thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would do well in a quiet home with an older couple or single person who can give him the stability and love he deserves. His sweet, loyal nature shines through, and he is ready to offer love and companionship in return. If you feel able to open your heart and home to a dog whoโ€™s been through so much, but is still eager to find peace, ALBI could be the perfect match.

Health Information:
ALBI is in good health for his age, though he has some stiffness in his back legs, which would benefit from joint support supplements and weight management program in place (good quality food + sufficient walks). He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. HARRY has been tested for C.Brucella (licensed laboratory), and all certificates will be provided to his new family.
