🇬🇧🐾 7 Months in Foster Home– Still Waiting for Her Forever Home 🐾🇬🇧
❤🐶 MINNIE – A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Place in the World 🐶❤
📍 Location: Redhill, Surrey RH1
MINNIE is a stunning 1.5-year-old girl (small-medium size, to the knee) with soft eyes and a heart that’s learning to heal. She’s been in the UK for 9 months, spending 7 of them in an amazing foster home that’s dedicated to preparing her for her future.
With loving care and guidance from a force-free behaviourist, Minnie has made remarkable progress — but she’s still a sensitive girl who needs a calm, special home. She’s not a “ready-made dog,” but for the right person, she will be the most rewarding companion you could imagine.

💔 Her Story
Minnie’s life began in heartbreak — found alone at the roadside after her mum was hit by a car. Just a few weeks old, she wouldn’t have survived without rescue. Raised in foster with her brother (who’s since been adopted), Minnie needed more time and space to bloom.
She came to the UK as a shy pup, but sadly her first adoptive home misunderstood her sensitivity. Possibly mistreated, she regressed from shy to fearful and defensive. Thankfully, her foster family welcomed her back, and with patience, love, and professional guidance, she’s made enormous progress.
🐾 Detailed Information
At home, Minnie is loving, cuddly, and playful. She adores snuggles, belly rubs, and carrying your shoe (not chewing it — just for fun!). She loves games, gentle touch, and being near her people curling up with her head in your lap.
Outside the home, she’s still working through fears and so reactivity— especially with strangers, children, and busy or unpredictable environments. Busy town streets or sudden movement can trigger anxiety, and she may freeze or react vocally. However, she’s improving steadily. Her foster has seen wonderful changes — from barking at every noise to calmly walking past pushchairs and bikes in the park. She still needs continued structure, patience, and confidence-building, but she’s smart and wants to learn.
A force-free behaviourist has assessed her and feels she is unlikely to ever become a fully “socialised” city dog, so an active, quiet countryside home is essential.
From behaviourist:
“She won’t ever reach the level of a social butterfly. She needs a home in a quiet location, ideally a private house on the edge of a village or rural area, with minimal external triggers. No children. A calm, understanding adults who is happy to offer her safety, predictability, and love.”
🏡 Ideal Home
Minnie would do best with:
✔ A quiet, rural or semi-rural home (no busy roads or city flats)
✔ Calm, patient adults only — a single person or couple
✔ Someone home most of the day (remote worker or retired)
✔ Another friendly, confident dog (ideally a medium/large male)
✔ Someone committed to force-free training and understanding trauma recovery
Her foster family is incredibly supportive — they’ll offer meet-and-greets, honest updates, and even a short pre-adoption stay to ease her transition.
💌 MINNIE is not for everyone — but she might be everything to someone.
She may never be a “bring to the café” kind of dog, may never love city streets or strangers — but she’ll love you. She’ll follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, play with joy, and grow into herself with your help. If you’re looking to truly change a life — and gain a once-in-a-lifetime bond — Minnie is waiting.
