Reserved: UK Surrender (Burton-upon-Trent, DE15): ARLO – 9 months Springer Spaniel Boy

💙🐶 ARLO – Springer Spaniel Puppy Boy Looking for a Fresh Start 🐶💙

💔😢 Another heartbreaking story… Today, Sunday, I went into town with my family. And then came the call: “Are you a dog rescue? Do you take dogs for rehoming?”
— “Well… yes, we do, but…””Oh great! I’m near you. Can you please take a dog from us?”
Just like that. No warning. No arrangement. No second thought. I rushed back home and this is how little Arlo entered our care.

🐶 Arlo is a young Springer Spaniel pup, born in August 2024 (9 months old). Too much, too active too bouncy for family….
He desperately needs a home that can give him what every puppy deserves—time, patience, consistency and love.

When he first came he was hiding in the corner and he would shake and hide meeting my kids and dogs… We left him to settle and it took him just few hours and already in the evening he was ready for a walk in the fields, with all other dogs… He absolutely loved it… He been great meeting other dogs, no barking… He loved running on long line.. Loved ball and frisbee… He has amazing recall, he been coming back every time we called him.. What a super star boy he is… Somebody would be very lucky to have such sweet pup.

Rescue Story:

🐶 Arlo was surrendered on a Sunday afternoon, with no notice and no preparation. His former family simply didn’t have the time or experience to manage a high-energy young spaniel. His lack of house-training, hyper playfulness, and need for longer walks were too much for a single parent working full time. So this bouncy little lad was handed over—confused, and unaware his whole life was about to change.

That’s what family said about him: “I work a lot so don’t really have the time to take him on long walks. He’s very hyper all the time – you can’t sit down without him jumping all over the place. And I’m struggling to house train him.” “Arlo seems fine around other dogs. He’s not been around cats or other small animals to know. And he’s been left alone while I go to work and seems okay. He sits when told but only really in the house – not so much outside or when crossing roads. He likes balls – they have to be hard, otherwise he chews them – and soft teddies.”

Despite his challenges, Arlo is a friendly, trainable boy who just hasn’t had the right structure or attention. He has been living in a home with a garden and sleeping in the kitchen. He is not yet house-trained but has no separation anxiety and no history of biting. He’s microchipped and vaccinated, and we will follow up with vet records.

Ideal Family:
Arlo needs an active, experienced home with the time and patience to help him develop. A totally secure garden is a must, and ideally someone who understands breeds like Spaniels. A family with older, dog-savvy older children or another balanced dog to learn from would be wonderful. He is not suited to a busy, full-time working household or first-time owners.

Arlo is a young dog who hasn’t been given the tools he needs to succeed. With the right home, consistent guidance, and lots of love, this sweet Springer boy can grow into a brilliant family companion. Don’t let this joyful spirit fade—help him start over.

Health Information:
🐶Arlo is healthy. He is microchipped and vaccinated. Has been already neutered by rescue. No known medical issues.
