BERT’s journey began in heartbreaking circumstances. He was found when was just around 6 months old abandoned on the streets, left behind by refugees who couldn’t take him along. Despite the sudden loss and confusion he must have felt, BERT held onto his resilient spirit and is now looking for a forever home to share his loyalty and affection.

BERT is a bright, adventurous dog who loves exploring the world. Ideal for a family that enjoys an active lifestyle, he’ll make the perfect hiking and walking companion, always keen to investigate new sights and smells. BERT loves learning and pleasing his humans, already knowing commands like “sit” and “give paw.” With the right guidance, he’ll happily learn even more, thriving in a home that offers consistent structure and positive reinforcement.
Because he’s both playful and highly intelligent, BERT will do well with a family who has experience with active dogs and can keep him engaged and busy. Daily decent walks will help him unwind, making him a calm and cuddly companion at home. While he’s fond of children, BERT’s size and energy are better suited for older kids who appreciate his boundless enthusiasm. BERT is currently living with a dozen of other dogs (all are small size) and cats. He’s sociable with other animals and tolerant of cats, though he can sometimes be nervous around some male dogs. BERT handles traffic well and stays calm around vehicles, but will be happiest in a home with garden to stretch his legs, such as a countryside or suburban setting.
