MARTIN – The Gentle and Loving Soul. Located: Rolleston-On-Dove

🐶 MARTIN, a 7-month-old puppy boy, is searching for a safe and loving home where he can continue to build confidence and show his gentle, affectionate nature. MARTIN is a small-sized pup almost fully grown.

Quick Facts:
SIZE: Small (38 cm / 10 kg, may grow slightly)
SPAYED/NEUTERED: No (neuter agreement applies)
CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Gentle, calm, shy but affectionate
DOGS: Good with other dogs (prefers calmer or female dogs)
CATS: Good with cats
CHILDREN: Best with older dog-savvy children (9+)

🐶 MARTIN is currently at Foster with few other dovs abd that’s what they say about him: “💙 Marty (Martin) 💙 Cannot believe Marty has been in the UK for a while now and has not found his forever home yet…he is such a stunning good boy! Marty is a very playful affectionate boy. Given his circumstances, despite being 9 months he still is very puppyish, but in a nice way. He love to learn and play with his toys. He is about 10kg and a small medium sized dog. He is smaller than he looks…fits in a XS harness and has long model legs… He gets very excited for his walks and loves making friends at the park, although he does try and jump up at dogs and people a little at the moment. He is very socialable and just needs to learn boundaries with other dogs and that not all dogs want to play with him. He is very soft and kind with his play, loves playing with my mini dachshund who is only 5kg and is very gentle. He enjoys playing with our two dogs despite them being much smaller than he is. Once he is worn out he loves to cuddle on the sofa. We take him upstairs for a few hours before bed and he understands that this is relax time and sleeps at the end of the bed.
At night though he does sleep in his crate and sleeps through the night. He also hasn’t had any accidents in the house either.
Martin would be ideal to a family who want to go on walks as he certainly has energy, in time we would imagine he would be trainable off the lead. We’ve had him for over a week now but he is a brilliant dog who’ll make someone a perfect pet ❤ ”

🐶 MARTIN has settled in really well and enjoys the company of other dogs as well as lots of human fuss. He is an absolute sweetheart. He is a typical puppy and is very playful. He has settled into our household routine taking things slowly so he has adjusted well and his confidence is building.
He is food/treat motivated so is responsive to training such as recall. He will bark when he meets someone new (human or dog) but quickly accepts them with reassurance from his humans. He will mouth our hands (as puppy’s do) but has been extremely gentle with us. His toilet training is 90% there.
Martin would suit a home with at least one another dog his size or larger so he can play and learn confidently from them. He’s healthy, happy and bouncy and has a beautiful coat. I would suggest an adult only home but I’m confident he would be fine with a dog savvy teenager. He’s been through a lot so needs a family that will show patience with him. Understandably he has some sensory issues coming from a war zone, eg jumps at unknown noises but once familiar with a sound he is fine. Anyone that can invest time and patience gradually introducing him to new environments will in return end up with a wonderful companion and family member 💖*

Rescue Story:

🐶 MARTIN’s story begins in Toretsk, a town devastated by the war in Donbass. Alongside his brother CHOCO, MARTIN was born to a stray mum struggling to survive in a place of constant chaos. Volunteers braved incredible dangers to save MARTIN and other abandoned animals, risking their own safety in a town under constant threat. The rescue was nothing short of miraculous, with volunteers shielding the pups from drones and shelling as they carried them to safety. MARTIN’s quiet resilience and gentle spirit are a testament to his will to survive and thrive despite his harsh beginnings.

🐶 MARTIN has made progress with his confidence on walks, though he still finds some situations overwhelming. “He wasn’t sure about stairs at first, but with patience and chicken, he now runs up and down confidently! He’s doing really well with traffic and has enjoyed calm walks in quiet parks. He’s cautious with new people but warms up quickly when given space and time.”

The Ideal Home for MARTIN:

🐶 MARTIN would thrive in a happy active, dog loving and patient household where his gentle nature is understood . A family with older children who understand his gentle nature would be ideal. His new family should be prepared to support his ongoing socialisation, helping him blossom into the loving, confident pup he’s meant to be.

🐶 MARTIN has already shown how much love he has to give. If you can offer him the understanding and care he deserves, he’ll repay you with endless loyalty and affection. Reach out to give MARTIN the home he’s been waiting for! 💙🐾🏠

Health Information:

🐶 MARTIN is fully healthy, has all core vaccines done, and is microchipped. He is not neutered due to his young age (neuter agreement applies). All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel, and the test certificate from a licensed laboratory will be provided.
