LEO – A Special Little Boy with a Big Heart.

AVAILABLE FOSTER TO ADOPT. Located Dunstable, LU6

Meet LEO, a special boy with an extraordinary spirit! At 2–3 years old, he’s a small bundle of charm. Born without one part of front leg, LEO doesn’t just keep up—he outpaces everyone!

SIZE: Small (6-7 kg)
SPAYED/NEUTERED: Yes
CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Confident, sociable, playful, cuddly
DOGS: Friendly and gets along well
CATS: Tolerant
CHILDREN: Good with kids aged 7+

Leo is a ‘tripod’ but it doesn’t stop him. Leo is just a sweetest boy, who loves to give you kisses and he will be your cuddle monster. Leo is very gentle but was let down by humans. He is absolutely petrified when you want to pick him up ( is getting a bit better), sometimes cries or leak. It breaks my heart as you can tell he was mistreated by people. Saying that he is very loving and happy to see people on his walks and say hi. He is so desperate to trust and be part of the family. Leo is good with other dogs on walks, wag his tail and want to say hi. Leo is house trained with access to garden, doesn’t have food or toy aggression. Leo is just all around dog, minus a front leg. Leo loves walks and sniffing around is his favourite thing. Leo great off lead. Not scared of people happy to see them, good with all the dogs he meets, very happy and always wagging his tail. Still petrified of being picked up but he is getting a little bit better. Loves the car, happy to get in. Toilet trained if he has an access to a garden. Zero food aggression and happy to share treats and toys.

Rescue Story:
LEO and a few other small dogs were abandoned in a closed yard when their owner moved away, leaving them without food or water. Vulnerable and alone, they clung to each other for comfort and survival. Thankfully, kind neighbours noticed their plight and called for help. The little group was brought to safety and given a chance to start anew at a foster home.

Detailed Information:
Born without one of his legs, LEO doesn’t let it hold him back. In fact, he’s the fastest and most active of his pack, earning the nickname “Mearkat” for his adorable habit of sitting upright on his back legs. He’s a natural leader among his canine friends, confidently guiding them with his lively and playful spirit.
He loves humans and thrives on cuddles, but his initial shyness means he’ll need time to build trust. Once he does, he’s all in—full of affection, playfulness, and energy.

He’s active and loves to be part of the action, yet is also happy to sit quietly and soak up attention from his people. While he’s friendly with cats and other dogs, LEO would do best with calm, respectful children aged 7+ who understand his special nature.

Ideal Family:
LEO dreams of a home where his differences are celebrated and his heart is cherished. A family that’s active and loving, with a secure home and opportunities for play and affection, would be perfect. He’d thrive with people who can appreciate his resilience and give him the chance to be the lively, cuddly companion he loves to be.

Health Information:
LEO is fully healthy, neutered, has all core vaccines done, and is microchipped. Born without one leg, it doesn’t limit his ability to play, run, or live a full life and doesn’t require any further treatment. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
